5 Habits Which Will Transform You into Good Health

If you could dedicate your time to just one form of personal transformation, your health would be right at the top of the list. Without good health, it’s impossible to live your life fully. Being tired, overweight, in pain, or dragging along will take enjoyment from daily living. Success comes harder and requires more effort. Everything is more difficult.

Thankfully, building good health through personal transformation consists of only two parts. The first is an attitude adjustment. Here you examine your feelings about your health. Diet, exercise, and sleep patterns should all come under scrutiny as you figure out if you might have past triggers which could be holding you back.

From there comes the physical transformation, where you focus on the outer you. This you can easily do through a series of small habits.

Drink More

75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. This reason alone should be enough to get you drinking more water.

Grab a Routine

Having a morning or before bed routine can help you stay on top of things like brushing your teeth, taking any prescribed medications, or even working in time to exercise. Make these things a daily habit.

Move More

Exercise should be an important part of every day. How you get it is entirely up to you. Pro tip: You don’t have to spend a lot of money to get fit. Even walking daily can make a positive impact.

Check Your Pantry

The only way to keep bad food out of your diet is not to have it in the house, to begin with. Build a habit of buying healthful alternatives when you’re out shopping so you can grab a quick snack without having to bypass a lot of unhealthy options.

Schedule Sleep

We all need 7 – 9 hours of sleep at night. The only way to make sure you get enough sleep is to establish a regular bedtime along with a planned time to get up. How do you know what’s right for you? Experiment a little until you find the amount of sleep that leaves you feeling rested in the morning without feeling groggy.

As a side note: while it’s important to take care of your health on your own, you should always enlist your doctor when making significant changes to your exercise routine or diet. You might benefit from a checkup before you begin. Also, your physician can give you solid advice and answer questions about how this change fits in with your current health needs. It is especially important if you have diabetes or a heart condition.
